Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026 Applies to: mrbookspk.com & the Mr. Book's app
In short: we collect only what we need to sell you books and run our events. We never sell your personal data.

Who we are

Mr. Book's is an independent bookstore at Shopping Center, Shop B/1, Peshawar, 25000, Pakistan. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit mrbookspk.com, use our app, reserve a book, join the Books Circle, or sign up for an event. Mr. Book's is the controller of that information.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details — your name, phone or WhatsApp number and email when you reserve a book, place a special order or join the Circle.
  • Order details — the titles you reserve or buy, and your pickup or delivery address if you ask us to deliver.
  • Event sign-ups — your name and number so we can hold a seat and let you know about changes.
  • Messages — anything you send us by phone, WhatsApp, email or social media.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data — browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring site and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — described in the next sections.

We do not collect card numbers on this website. In-shop card, JazzCash and Easypaisa payments are handled by those providers under their own policies.

How we use it

  • To hold, source and hand over the books you ask for, and to tell you when they arrive.
  • To run the Books Circle — member pricing, arrival notices and event invitations.
  • To answer your questions and resolve problems with an order.
  • To understand which pages and books people look at, so we can improve the site and our stock.
  • To show relevant advertising for Mr. Book's on other websites, where you have not opted out.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations under Pakistani law.

We only send marketing messages if you have asked to receive them, and every message tells you how to stop them.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use a small number of them:

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working; blocking the others will not.

Advertising choices

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time:

Opting out does not remove ads; it means the ads you see will be less tailored. To learn more about how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us run the business — web hosting, email, analytics, advertising and courier delivery — and only as much as they need.
  • Publishers and distributors, and only the title and quantity, when sourcing a special order. Your name is not passed on.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it.

Retention & security

We keep order and reservation records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and Circle membership details until you cancel. Event sign-up lists are deleted 90 days after the event. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

We use HTTPS across the site, limit staff access to what each role needs, and keep paper order slips in a locked drawer at the shop. No system is perfectly secure, but we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete your information, unless we must keep it by law.
  • Object to or restrict how we use it, including for marketing.
  • Withdraw consent you have given, at any time.
  • Port your data to another service in a common format.

If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), these rights are backed by local law, and you may also complain to your data-protection authority. We reply to all requests within 30 days and will never charge you or treat you differently for making one.

Children

Our website and app are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. Parents signing children up for storytime do so with their own details. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will also put a notice on the homepage and tell Circle members by email or WhatsApp.
